Who We Are
Evidence-Driven Development
Mission
To generate rigorous, policy-relevant evidence that advances food security, economic inclusion, and climate resilience across East Africa — with a focus on advancing women in economic research and leadership.
Vision
A world where evidence shapes policy and transforms lives across Africa, and where women lead and define the research agenda.
Goal
To be East Africa’s leading women-led research organisation — producing evidence that is acted on by governments, funders, and communities.
“We believe that rigorous research, led by women, is one of the most powerful tools for sustainable development in East Africa.”
Our Foundation
Three Pillars
Quality
Every research output meets rigorous methodological standards. We use best-practice designs — RCTs, DiD, RDD, and mixed methods — to generate findings that stand up to scrutiny.
Integrity
Our findings are evidence-driven and independent. We are transparent about methods, limitations, and conflicts of interest, and we protect the communities we research.
Efficiency
We deliver high-value research on schedule and within budget, using streamlined data systems and experienced field teams to minimise cost without sacrificing quality.
