Biography
Dr. Irine Akite is the Co-Founder of AWinERA Africa Ltd and a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive expertise in agricultural economics, food systems, and gender-inclusive development. She holds a doctoral degree and is a faculty member at Gulu University, where she has contributed significantly to research on smallholder agriculture, nutrition, and rural livelihoods in Northern Uganda. Dr. Akite brings deep methodological expertise in household surveys, qualitative research, and participatory approaches to evidence generation. Her work at AWinERA focuses on advancing research that empowers women in economic decision-making and strengthens food security across East and Central Africa. She has collaborated with international research institutions and development organisations on multiple high-impact studies that have directly informed national agricultural and nutrition policies.
